Know what the drive costs before you take it
Field sites are rarely close together. Pioneer plans the route between them, estimates the fuel against your vehicle's real economy, and lays out the timeline so you know whether the day fits.
Getting to the ground is a real cost and a real constraint, and it usually gets estimated in someone's head on the morning of. Four sites looks fine on a map until the third one is forty minutes of gravel off the highway.
Pioneer answers two questions before you set off: what this trip will cost in fuel, and whether it actually fits in the day.
What it does
- Routes a multi-stop trip across the sites you're visiting, in the order you're visiting them.
- Estimates fuel burn and cost from the economy figure and fuel price you enter, leg by leg.
- Builds the timeline — departure, drive time, time on site, and when you get back.
- Shows the whole trip at once, so a day that doesn't fit is obvious before anyone is in the truck.

Common questions
How do you estimate the fuel cost of a field trip?
Distance divided by the vehicle's real economy, multiplied by the price you're paying. The part people get wrong is using the sticker figure rather than what the truck actually returns loaded, on gravel, with a trailer behind it. Pioneer takes the economy figure you give it, so the estimate reflects the vehicle you're driving.
Does Pioneer work offline?
Not yet. Routing and distances need a connection, so plan the trip before you lose signal. Offline support is on the list.
Does the timeline include time on site?
Yes, if you give each stop a duration. Drive time alone tells you very little about whether a five-site day is realistic; the stops are usually what breaks it.
