Pioneer is a road trip planner. This policy covers the Pioneer iOS app and the planner at sensaro.net/pioneer. It says what we collect, why we collect it, and how you get rid of it. If something here is unclear, ask us at support@sensaro.net.
What we collect
| Data | Why | Kept |
|---|---|---|
| Email address | Identifies your account and lets you sign in. Held by Amazon Cognito. | Until you delete your account |
| Precise location | Shows your position on the map, plots your route, and drives the compass heading. Used while the app is open. | Not stored on our servers |
| Trips you save | Stops, routes, vehicle settings and trip names, so they are there next time. | Until you delete the trip or your account |
| Spots you submit | Community spots are shared with other Pioneer users by design. | Until you ask us to remove them |
| Photos you attach | Stored against the trip or stop you attached them to. | Until you delete them or your account |
| Push token | Delivers notifications, if you allow them. | Until you turn notifications off or delete the app |
| Feature nudges | Counts which upcoming features people want first. | Indefinitely, aggregated |
Location, specifically
Pioneer reads your location only while you are using it. We do not track you in the background, and the app does not request always-on location access. Your coordinates are used on the device to draw your position, calculate the route ahead, and look up conditions along it. We do not store your location history on our servers, and we do not sell or share it.
You can revoke location access at any time in iOS Settings. The planner still works — you lose live positioning and the compass.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal data.
- We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
- We do not run third-party advertising or tracking SDKs in the app.
- We do not build advertising profiles from your trips.
Who processes data for us
We use a small number of providers to run the service. They process data on our instructions only.
- Amazon Web Services — hosting, authentication (Cognito), storage and APIs, in the US West region.
- Map and routing providers — tile imagery and route calculation. Requests for map tiles necessarily include the area you are viewing.
- Apple — push notification delivery, and Sign in with Apple if you use it.
Community spots and shared trips
Spots you submit are public to other Pioneer users, including the name, note and category you enter. Do not put anything in a spot note you would not want shared. If you generate a share link for a trip, anyone with that link can view it until you remove the trip.
Your rights
You can access, correct, export or delete your data. Deletion is immediate and self-service:
Delete your account
One page, one confirmation. Your account and everything attached to it is removed. No reason required, no email exchange, nothing to justify.
If you are in the EEA, UK, California or another region with statutory data rights, those rights apply and the mechanism is the same. Write to support@sensaro.net for access or export requests.
Children
Pioneer is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
Security
Traffic is encrypted in transit over HTTPS. Sign-in is handled by Amazon Cognito; we never see or store your password. On iOS, your session is protected by Face ID, Touch ID or your device passcode, and session details are kept in the iOS Keychain rather than in app storage.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update the date above and note the change in the app. Continuing to use Pioneer after a change means you accept the updated policy.
