What Freehold is

Freehold is a marketplace listing software, games, data and design work sold under perpetual licences. We list products; we do not write them. Each product is supplied by the vendor named on its listing, and your licence for it is the one that vendor grants you.

Accounts

You need an account to comment or to sell. You must be old enough to form a contract where you live — at minimum [16/18]. Keep your credentials to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account. You can close your account at any time from the account page, which deletes your data as described in the privacy policy.

Selling here

Vendor applications are reviewed by hand. To list a product you confirm that:

• you own it, or you are licensed to sell it;
• it is sold outright, with no recurring charge;
• it keeps working without a licence server; and
• buyers can get their own data out of it.

We may reject or remove any listing, at our discretion, and we may end a vendor account that repeatedly breaks these rules. Listing a product you do not have the rights to is the fastest way to lose an account permanently.

The vendor fee

Listing costs a one-time fee of [$25]. We charge it only after we have approved your application, so you are never charged for an application we turn down. There is no renewal, no listing fee, and no commission on what you sell.

The fee covers review and hosting of your listings. It does not expire. If we remove your account for breaking these terms, the fee is not refunded. If you close your account voluntarily within [14] days of paying and have not published a listing, write to us and we will refund it.

[Decide the refund window and whether you offer one at all. UK and EU consumer law gives a 14-day right to cancel distance contracts, with an exception for digital services that begin immediately with the buyer's agreement — worth asking a lawyer which applies here.]

Payments are processed by Stripe. We never receive or store your card details. Prices are in [USD] and [exclude] any tax that applies where you are.

Buying a product

[Freehold does not process payments for the products themselves. Buying happens on the vendor's own site, under the vendor's terms, and any refund is a matter between you and them. Replace this section if you later take payment for listings.]

Comments

Comments are moderated automatically, and sometimes by hand. We may remove, hold or decline to publish anything, and we do not owe you a reason for a specific decision. Do not post other people's personal details, do not solicit piracy, and do not use comments to advertise.

Reporting a problem

Use the report link on any listing, or write to [CONTACT EMAIL]. Copyright notices are handled under our copyright policy.

Our liability

The site is provided as-is. We do not warrant that any listed product is fit for your purpose, and to the extent the law allows we are not liable for loss arising from a product you obtained through a listing. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Changes

We may change these terms. Material changes will be posted here with a new date, and continuing to use the site after that means you accept them.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of [JURISDICTION], and the courts of [JURISDICTION] have exclusive jurisdiction, except where a mandatory consumer-protection rule in your own country gives you a different right.
